The main attraction at Manchester airport's Aviation Viewing Park is one of the remaining Concorde aircraft which can be appreciated from the inside and out. Raised platforms give a view across the airport's runways. Concorde tours must be booked in advance.

The Greater Manchester County Record Office holds a huge amount of archive material pertaining to the social and environmental history of the Greater Manchester area. Records of births, marriages and deaths here are a great resource for travellers who may have had roots in the north-west of England and are researching their genealogy.

For a day of discovery and enjoyment, your first stop should be to the Visitor Centre to become acquainted with all the area has to offer. Then go off and explore the many sights. The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester contains galleries, working machines, and hands on displays. Gain knowledge of how ordinary people lived at the Pumphouse, or view the reconstruction of a Roman Fort. During the months of April until September, many free events take place at the outdoor arena.
